I really like the application. It has some basic information on what to do in various situations. The pictures are great. Please keep them comming. I would like to see pictures of poison ivy and poison oak that are described in the app.
Great App!

This is a fantastic idea. You never know when you are going to find yourself in a survival situation. This is a great product for hikers, hunters, and anyone else that might find their way off the beaten path. It has a very simple interface and gets you very quickly to what you want to know. The images are clear and high quality, its possible to zoom in without losing detail, very nice. Even more content has been added with the latest update with many more illustrations. Its not overly verbose or complicated, so, it should be well suited for the average person. Some of the submenu options go to the same page with related content, but it scrolls you to exactly what you wanted, so it works like an index, good for quickly finding what you want. It is actually a good idea to have the related content right there for you. If everyone has this kind of information on hand many lives would be saved. This is quickly becoming a top notch application. I am eagerly looking forward to further updates.

Good idea for an App but lacks content. I have a degree in outdoor education and I feel the info here is amateurish. I would like to see NOLS, Outward Bound Wilderness, NCOBS, or WEA come with a more useable version.
other suggestions...
Version 1.0 - Feb 26, 2009
Here are two suggestions that I would like to see added to this app: 1. a mirror screen to use like the rescue section talks about 2. a GPS locator for emergencies - to tell other where you are! (like other apps - but would be great to have it all in one). Might be great to have the phone send either a txt msg, phone call, or e-mail msg to 911 or other responder.
Has Major Room for Improvements
Version 1.0 - Feb 21, 2009
This app very basic and I would not recommend it at this time. Each of the category you see in the display are just typed pages when you select them. Each category has sub categories when selected but when you open the sub category it shows all of the sub-categories. Each sub-category is an average of three typed paragraphs explaining very basic and in most cases common sense knowledge. When there are pictures you have to stretch them using the pinch method and there are very few pictures to show what the steps are or what the results should be. I was able to get the Army Survival Manual FM 21-76 in PDF format and store it in Air Sharing and it does a suberb job of how to survive in the wilderness. This app can be improved and could be very beneficial in the future. Having survival kit lists for wilderness and city. How to survive Natural Disasters and better guidance then someone just typing a few paragraphs on something they read. The content that is provided should be free until more and better survival instruction are provided. Until its fixed I recommend just staying with the Army Survival Manual. I will willingly update my rating if this app is fixed and becomes a true survival guide for wilderness and natural disasters.
