I've not long had the iPhone, but this is one of those little apps that made it so appealing to me. I know this is only a 59p app where the main aim is to allow little moments of creative fun and perhaps teach you a little about combining colours, but I would love to see this scaled up to a PC app (or better: Photoshop or Illustrator plug-in) and be able to set really big canvas sizes.

It's a fun little thing to play with for a while but like many gimmicky drawing progs it has less mileage than a more straightforward and basic drawing programme.
My main gripes are that a double tap takes you back to the menu and in a programme which promotes dots and blobs you'll be double tapping a lot and getting frustrated by the interference of the menu page. I don't know why these progs don't include an Undo - that undermines this prog's potential. Look forward to the updates.

Great idea but at the moment it feels like a half-baked app. My main complaint is the low resolution images. The paint looks more like pixel art than paint splashes. A distinct settings button would remove the problem of the menu page constantly popping up when you're painting. For an app that's all about tapping the screen to make art, it's too easy to keep tapping the menu page by mistake. A good idea for an app but without an update resolving these issues, I don't think it's worth paying for.

Downloaded this app as it looked so full of potential, rubbish! Paid 59p for something that doesn't even work!
Try to draw, but screen just flashes, not putting a splash of paint on my would-be masterpiece!
Must be a bug! I want a refund please.

When I save my drawings they were very pixilated so i tried taking screenshots instead and they come up much better but other than that the app is lots of fun.

Nice idea but there are some issues, including the double tap that brings up that irritating cover page, no undo, an unwanted splash when tapping to access the menu, and poor resolution (when enlarging and saving). I see that there hasn't been an update since April 2009 (its now Jan 2010) - does that mean the developer has given up the ghost? I hope not as the idea is great fun. But for a paid-for app the issues and problems ought to be rectified, and soon! There are far too many poor, unfinished and unsupported apps on the appstore now. Apple should insist that there is either a compulsory update to resolve problems that purchasers have highlighted, else give refunds and/or stop further sales until they are dealt with.

Update needs side bar because you make an epic picture then we u want to save it you double tap so that adds unwanted paint to your picture !!!

Ok, so its not gonna give you directions to the airport, teach you a second language, or bring you the latest political news- but it IS fun. Its simple to use, feels very responsive when "painting", & its hard to put down to be honest! :) Don't expect it to change your world, but do expect to enjoy making fun, random designs with colour! :D

This app could be really good, but there needs to be an undo button, and a button instead of double tapping for the menu, because it is really annoying accidentally bringing up the menu when you are in the middle of a drawing.
Superb and easy to get to grips with....

A very good concept. I've seen, but not as yet used, the web version which is beautiful. The iPhone version is nice to play with and very enjoyable. The reason it didn't get 5 stars (one star knocked off for each thing) is because;
A) When actually painting, it's a rather low res picture. It's rather blocky.
B) When you save a picture, the result is awful - an extreamly compressed and blocky image with lots of jpeg artifact on it.
To get 5 stars it needs to be in a higher res and when saved it needs to be exactly the same as what you saw on the screen when you were painting it.

Was hoping for something similar to the web based version but this is quite different and much less enjoyable.
Paint is very pixelated and not as natural. Would not have bought it if I'd tried beforehand.

I didn't think that I would like this as much as I do. It's fun to splash away. Initially, I didn't realise that you can flood fill with a colour if you press and hold with your finger. This means you don't have to start with a white background. Makes excellent background images for use in combination with other apps. I do find that the double-tap paints as well as opens the menu, which isn't what you want to happen but is in the ethos of Jackson Pollock. Sometimes the dips or streaks can look pixelated. It now paints the the edge of the screen on all sides, so you can have half a drip showing.I'm really pleased I bought this app, it's excellent.
