Part toy, part incredibly playable digital instrument. Bebot may be the best sounding, most fun to play, music app I have had the honor to come across. At $1.99?!? Well it's a GD steal, IMHO.
I bought this app because the robot is cute and it's fun trying to make him go WOOOW! But after diving into some of the advanced features, I got lost in making weird music with it. I wish I could have recorded some of the stuff but this thing is pretty powerful. If I were this developer I would break this into another app just for music tinkerers because it's very well done. The sound manipulation, fx, and response are very solid. Worth the money!
This is what a fun app should be, easy to use, great to look at and a helluva a lotta fun. Kids love it, friends love it, I love it. Great job. What else you got?
I've blown a lot of money on music apps in the 2 years I've owned an iPhone. This is still my favorite. It sticks to a few basic features but does them extremely well, and really takes advantage of the touch screen. I don't want more apps that try to port desktop music-making experiences to my phone; I want more apps like this which are designed with the phone's strengths and weaknesses in mind.
You just need to watch the Jordan Rudess review to know its a pretty cool music app.
After all this time I think it needs an update. you know... a way to rec what you play from within the app.... more effects and new backgrounds styles..
When I first got Bebot I was very impressed with it and it's wonderfully unique approach to music making. In many ways it still is a cool musical app for the iPhone form factor.
But then ThumbJam was released and it took Bebot's musical approach (credit where credit is due) not just to a new level, but many new levels and dimensions, as a true musical instrument for the iphone and iPod Touch.
Normalware, the new player on the field has thrown down the gauntlet with great flair and gusto, it's time you refocus and pick it up!
Anyone who purchases this app should be very happy. It can serve as a cute little toy to make silly noises, or a great new musical instrument. For those of you who think it's just a couple beeps and bops, go check out Jordan Rudess using it. He does a Bebot solo in the Dream Theater song "A Rite of Passage." The app is only $1.99, i seriously recommend it to musicians and non-musicians alike. I'm a guitar player and i can manage to get some decent solos out of it, so you know it can't be that hard to use haha. For fast Bebot solos, i recommend putting only one octave on the screen, it's very hard to be accurate due to the iphone's small screen. If you are lucky enough to be able to afford an ipad though, feel free to put 3 or 4 octaves up at once and you might also be interested in morphwiz which is a similar app designed by Jordan himself. This app introduced me to a whole new way of making music. With the recording mic i have, I am able to connect my ipod to my computer through it and use Bebot to do some fun solos so it is possible to use it seriously and record. Of course, kids will also love it(even though the noises coming from them might be very annoying, it's a good way to keep them occupied and out of trouble). Once again, I highly recommend this app, you will not be sorry you bought it! It's worth every one of those 5 stars.
Had this on the iPhone and it was fun but on the iPad it's amazing! Screen size makes it great. Recording option would be helpful for when you're away from your gear and can't direct into your mixer.
I've had this app for a long time. I loved to show my friends how cute he was making his weird noise on my iphone. I put this app on my ipad as well and only recently went into the settings to find there are actually several powerful synthesizers. So easy... a caveman could do it. I love jamming with this thing on my ipad. Looks, feels and sounds amazing. As fun to play as the more expensive synths I've purchased. (not to mention easier) :-) GET IT!
This app is halarious yet a little useful. There needs to be a recording option and don't make it so complicated. I compare this app to Chuck Norris trying to sing oprah while chocking on a uninsulated wire. Good luck on getting that 5th star cause it's probably not happinen any time soon, cool graphics though.
This app is so freaking awesome!!! It is not only extremely fun to play around with for kicks, but has lots of potential for pro uses. Worth every penny! Go devs, go!!!
Worth it

For what it does it's almost flawless, I would only ask that they offer other note interface layout choices other than the little lines/strings.
Beyond Good

This was the first app I bought and I am still impressed with it.
I have spent a lot of time exploring settings and playing songs using Bebot and every moment was enjoyable.
If you have hands and ears, you should buy this.
If you don't have hands and ears... You should still buy this.
Gotta love the Bebot
